Hot Side & Refrigeration Tech

$40-$55 per hour, based on experience DC Metro Area Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Overtime Opportunities

Since 1998, RJH Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Service has built a trusted reputation throughout the DC Metro area for reliable commercial refrigeration and food service equipment service. We have an immediate need for an experienced Hot Side & Refrigeration Technician to join our growing team.

What You'll Do

• Service and maintain commercial hot side equipment and commercial refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, gas, and refrigeration issues across a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment.
• Work on equipment including:
  • Commercial ovens, ranges, grills, fryers, and steamers
  • Holding cabinets, warming equipment, and food preparation equipment
  • Walk-in and reach-in coolers and freezers
  • Ice machines
  • Dish machines and hood systems
  • Mixers and other commercial food service appliances
• Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential equipment issues before they become costly repairs
• Communicate service findings, repair recommendations, and equipment needs professionally
• Work directly with customers, facility teams, dispatchers, and fellow technicians
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Identify opportunities for maintenance agreements and earn commissions on qualified leads

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience with commercial cooking equipment, hot side equipment, and commercial refrigeration
• EPA Universal Refrigerant certification
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration and kitchen service equipment
• Strong electrical, mechanical, gas, and refrigeration troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
• Journeyman or Master HVAC license preferred
• Vocational or technical training preferred
• CFESA certification is a plus
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
