Oscoda Area Schools announces the need for full-time custodian.
Position: Full-time custodian
Effective Date: As soon as possible
Hours: 8 hours per day
Duties: General cleaning of facilities including, but not limited to sweeping and scrubbing floors, cleaning windows and minor maintenance Mixing and applying floor-protection chemicals Painting Repairing/replacing electrical mechanisms, plumbing pipes and fixtures Minor general construction (repair and/or new) Removing waste materials Any other duties needed for good custodial practices Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent Ability to work independently or as a team member Ability to follow directions (written or spoken) Knowledge and background in general cleaning practices Knowledge of good safety practices Ability to operate lawn equipment, fork lift, and other heavy equipment Familiarity in areas of cleaning, electrical, plumbing work and construction Ability to regularly lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds Ability to use tools and equipment necessary to do required duties Ability to stand on step and/or extension ladders and scaffolding for extended periods Ability to be continually on your feet
